Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Initial Try-On: Ensure the boots fit snugly but comfortably. High-performance boots often have a snug fit, and the multi-layer upper is designed to mold to your foot over time.
- Break-in Period: Allow for a gradual break-in period over several training sessions to ensure the materials adapt to your foot shape. This helps prevent discomfort during intense play.
- Lacing: Experiment with different lacing techniques to find the optimal lockdown and comfort for your foot. A secure lacing ensures maximum support during dynamic movements.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces. This includes natural grass pitches that are firm, dry, or slightly damp. Using these boots on artificial grass (AG) or very soft/muddy ground (SG) can lead to premature wear of the studs and potentially reduce grip, increasing the risk of injury. Always match your boot type to the playing surface.
Care
- Cleaning After Each Use: Remove excess mud and dirt using a soft brush or cloth immediately after playing. Avoid harsh scrubbing that could damage the upper materials.
- Hand Wash Only: Clean the boots with lukewarm water and a mild soap. Do not machine wash, as this can damage the structural integrity and materials.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can cause the materials to crack or stiffen. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Storage: Store the boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using a boot bag can protect them during transport.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use strong detergents or chemical cleaners, as these can degrade the Gripknit and other upper materials.
