Setup & Compatibility
Your Nike Air Zoom Mercurial Vapor XVI Elite FG boots are ready to wear right out of the box. As high-performance footwear, they may require a short break-in period to conform optimally to your foot shape. We recommend wearing them for light training sessions before a competitive match.
These boots are explicitly designed for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces. This means they are compatible with natural grass pitches that are firm and not excessively wet or waterlogged. Using them on artificial turf (AG), soft ground (SG), or indoor courts will not only reduce their performance but can also lead to premature wear and tear or injury.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Use: After every session, wipe down your boots with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. For stubborn mud, use a soft brush.
- Gripknit Care: The Gripknit material can be gently wiped with a damp cloth to maintain its stickiness and texture. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbing, as this can damage the material.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can cause materials to stiffen, crack, or shrink.
- Insole Removal: Remove insoles after use to allow them and the boot's interior to air out, preventing odors and moisture buildup.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Using a boot bag can protect them from scratches and scuffs.
