Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Lacing: Begin by fully loosening the asymmetrical laces. Insert your foot, ensuring your heel is snugly positioned at the back of the boot. Gradually tighten the laces from the bottom upwards, ensuring an even, secure fit across your foot without being too restrictive. The asymmetrical design means the laces follow the natural contour of your foot, providing a large, flat surface for kicking.
- Break-In Period: The adaptive leather forefoot will conform to your foot over time. Wear the boots during light training sessions or for short periods initially to allow them to mold properly, enhancing comfort and fit.
Compatibility
These boots are Soft Ground (SG) specific. They are designed for optimal performance on:
- Natural grass pitches
- Wet and muddy playing surfaces
They are not recommended for:
- Firm Ground (FG)
- Artificial Grass (AG)
- Indoor surfaces
Using SG boots on inappropriate surfaces can lead to discomfort, premature wear of the studs, and inadequate traction.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care extends the lifespan and maintains the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Each Use: Immediately after play, remove excess mud and debris using a soft brush or a damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a mild boot cleaner. Pay attention to the studs and soleplate.
- Drying: Never dry your boots with direct heat (e.g., radiators, hairdryers) as this can damage the leather and synthetic materials, causing cracking or shrinking. Instead, stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and allow them to air dry at room temperature.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Using a boot bag can protect them during transport.
- Leather Care: For the adaptive leather forefoot, consider applying a leather conditioner periodically to keep the material supple and prevent drying or cracking.
