Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Nike Zoom Mercurial Vapor 1 FG boots are designed for immediate use. Simply lace them securely for a snug, comfortable fit. While no extensive 'break-in' period is typically required thanks to the form-fitting `FlyTouch+` upper, we recommend wearing them for a light training session before a competitive match to fully adapt to their feel.
Compatibility
These boots feature a Firm Ground (FG) soleplate and are specifically designed for use on natural grass pitches that are dry or slightly damp. They are not recommended for use on Artificial Grass (AG) or indoor surfaces as this can lead to premature wear of the studs and soleplate, and may void warranty. Always ensure your playing surface is suitable for FG boots.
Care
To prolong the life and maintain the performance of your boots:
- Clean After Each Use: After every session, remove excess mud and dirt using a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Rinse Gently: If very muddy, you can gently rinse them under cold water, but do not submerge them completely or use hot water.
- Dry Properly: Allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Never use direct heat sources like radiators, hairdryers, or direct sunlight, as this can damage the materials and adhesives. You can stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Store Correctly: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using a boot bag to protect them during transport.
- Insole Care: Remove insoles periodically to air them out and clean if necessary. Hand wash insoles with mild soap if they become soiled.
Following these care instructions will help maintain the `FlyTouch+` upper's integrity and the soleplate's traction for optimal performance.
