Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure boots are laced firmly but comfortably. Start lacing from the bottom eyelets, pulling snugly. Double knot to prevent laces from coming undone during play. A secure fit is crucial for support and to prevent blisters.
- Initial Wear: It's advisable to break in new boots during a few light training sessions before a competitive match to allow them to mold to your feet.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Soft Ground (SG) pitches. This includes muddy, wet, or very soft natural grass fields. The stud configuration, with its mix of metal and moulded studs, is optimized to penetrate soft surfaces for maximum grip. Using these boots on firm ground (FG) or artificial grass (AG) pitches can damage the boots, the playing surface, and may lead to discomfort or injury.
Care
- Cleaning After Each Use: Immediately after play, remove excess mud and debris from the upper and studs. Use a stiff brush or a damp cloth to clean the boots. For stubborn mud, a mild soap solution can be used.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly check the metal studs for wear, damage, or looseness. Tighten any loose studs with a stud wrench. Replace worn or damaged studs promptly to maintain optimal grip and prevent injury.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can cause synthetic materials to crack or stiffen. Stuffing the boots with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place. A boot bag can protect them during transport and storage.
