Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper setup and care will ensure your adidas RS-15 Soft Ground Rugby Boots perform optimally and last longer.
Initial Setup
- Lacing: Begin by lacing the boots firmly but comfortably. The asymmetrical lacing is designed to be tied to secure your foot while providing a smooth striking surface. Experiment with tension to find what best suits your foot and provides maximum kicking accuracy and support.
- Stud Check: Before your first use, ensure all metal studs are securely tightened. It's good practice to re-check them periodically, as they can loosen during play.
- Break-in Period: Like all new boots, a short break-in period is recommended. Wear them for light training sessions or walks before full-intensity play to allow them to mould to your feet.
Compatibility
- Ground Type: These boots are specifically designed for soft ground pitches. This means natural grass fields that are wet, muddy, or otherwise soft. Using them on hard ground, artificial turf, or indoor surfaces will not only reduce performance but can also damage the studs and the boots themselves.
- Age Group: Designed for adult players.
- Gender: This specific variant is for male players, though other variants may be unisex.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning After Use: Immediately after playing, especially in muddy conditions, clean your boots. Use a soft brush to remove loose dirt and mud from the upper and studs. A damp cloth with mild soap can be used for more stubborn grime. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not force dry them with direct heat (e.g., radiators, hairdryers), as this can damage the synthetic materials and adhesives. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly check your studs for wear and tear. Replace any worn-out or damaged studs to maintain optimal grip and prevent injury.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using a boot bag can help protect them during transport and storage.
