Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Utilize the asymmetrical lacing system. Start from the lowest eyelets and pull the laces firmly but comfortably, ensuring a snug fit around your foot without excessive pressure points. The offset lacing aims to create a clean striking surface.
- Initial Wear: Wear your new boots for short periods during practice sessions to break them in gradually. This helps your feet adjust to the fit and feel, reducing the chance of discomfort during a match.
- Stud Check: Before each use, ensure all studs are securely fastened and clean. Replace any worn or damaged studs to maintain optimal grip and safety.
Compatibility
These adidas RS-15 SG boots are specifically designed for Soft Ground (SG) pitches. This means they are ideal for natural grass fields that are wet, muddy, or otherwise soft. They are not recommended for use on firm ground (FG), artificial grass (AG), or hard ground surfaces, as this can damage the studs, reduce performance, and potentially cause injury.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, especially on muddy pitches, clean your boots immediately. Use a soft brush or cloth to remove loose dirt and mud. For stubborn dirt, use a mild soap and warm water, then wipe with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that can damage the synthetic upper.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can cause the materials to crack or stiffen. You can stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly inspect the studs. Clean mud from around the studs and replace any that are worn down or broken. Ensure they are tightened correctly if they are replaceable.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. A boot bag can protect them from dust and scratches.
