Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup & First Use
- Lacing: When you first put on your boots, ensure the asymmetrical laces are snugly tied, allowing for a secure fit without being overly tight. Adjust to find the optimal balance between comfort and support.
- Break-in Period: Like most leather boots, a short break-in period may be beneficial to allow the adaptive leather vamp to mold to your foot shape for maximum comfort and mobility. Wear them for light training sessions before a full match.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for soft ground (SG) rugby pitches. This means they are best suited for natural grass fields that are wet, muddy, or generally soft, where the longer, often metallic studs can penetrate for optimal grip. They are not recommended for firm ground (FG), artificial grass (AG), or indoor surfaces, as this can damage the studs, affect performance, and potentially void any warranty.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning After Each Use: After every game or training session, remove excess mud and dirt from the boots using a soft brush or damp cloth. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive materials.
- Leather Care: For the adaptive leather vamp, occasionally treat with a specialized leather conditioner to keep the material supple and prevent drying or cracking.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can damage the leather and adhesives. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from extreme temperatures. Consider using a boot bag for protection during transport.
