Setup, Compatibility & Care
First Use & Break-In
Upon receiving the boots, it's advisable to wear them around the house for short periods before their first match or intensive training session. This helps the boots mold to your child's feet, reducing the chance of blisters and ensuring maximum comfort from the outset. Wear them with the type of socks your child typically uses for football.
Compatibility
These boots feature an FG (Firm Ground) soleplate. This means they are specifically designed for:
- Natural grass pitches
- Dry to slightly damp playing conditions
They are not recommended for:
- Artificial grass (AG) pitches: Using FG boots on artificial turf can cause premature wear to the studs and may not provide optimal grip, potentially increasing the risk of injury.
- Soft Ground (SG) pitches: On muddy or very wet surfaces, FG studs may not penetrate deeply enough, leading to a lack of traction.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life of the boots and maintain their performance:
- Clean After Each Use: Immediately after playing, wipe off any mud or dirt with a damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a soft brush. Avoid harsh cleaning agents.
- Remove Insole: If possible, remove the insoles after use to allow them and the inside of the boot to air out and dry completely. This helps prevent odors.
- Air Dry: Always air dry the boots at room temperature. Do not dry them in direct sunlight, on a radiator, or with a hairdryer, as extreme heat can damage the synthetic leather and adhesives.
- Stuff with Newspaper: If the boots are very wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture. Replace the newspaper regularly until dry.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place away from direct heat and sunlight. Keep them in a boot bag or original box to protect them from dust and damage.
