Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Preparation: Ensure your child wears appropriate football socks, which are typically thicker than regular socks to provide cushioning and prevent blisters.
- Putting On: Loosen the laces sufficiently to slide the foot in comfortably. The knitted tongue should sit flat against the ankle.
- Lacing: Tighten the laces evenly, working from the toe upwards. Ensure the boot feels snug but not overly tight, allowing for natural foot movement. Double-knot the laces to prevent them from coming undone during play.
Compatibility
These boots feature FG (Firm Ground) studs, meaning they are specifically designed for use on:
- Natural grass pitches that are firm and dry.
They are not recommended for:
- Artificial grass (AG) pitches.
- Soft, muddy, or wet natural grass pitches (where SG or soft ground studs would be more appropriate).
- Indoor surfaces.
These boots are sized for children, ensuring a proper fit for younger players.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Use: Immediately after playing, knock off any loose mud or grass. Use a soft brush or damp cloth to wipe down the synthetic leather upper and clean the studs.
- Stubborn Dirt: For more stubborn dirt, use a mild soap solution with a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Never dry boots on a direct heat source (like a radiator or in direct sunlight), as this can damage the synthetic material and cause it to crack. Stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape, then allow them to air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place. A boot bag can protect them from scuffs and keep dirt contained.
- Odor Control: If odors develop, use boot deodorizers or sprinkle baking soda inside the boots and leave overnight, then shake out.
