Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Fitting: Ensure the boots fit snugly but comfortably. There should be a small amount of space (about a thumb's width) between the longest toe and the end of the boot when standing. The heel should feel secure, with minimal slippage.
- Lacing: Lace the boots firmly, starting from the lowest eyelets and working your way up. Ensure even tension across the laces to secure the foot without creating pressure points. Double knot for added security during play.
- Break-In: Like most new footwear, these boots may require a short break-in period. Encourage your child to wear them for shorter periods during practice before full matches to allow the material to adapt to their foot shape.
Compatibility
These Sondico Blaze boots are equipped with FG (Firm Ground) moulded studs. They are specifically designed and optimized for use on natural grass pitches that are firm and dry. Using them on other surfaces can lead to suboptimal performance, increased wear and tear on the boots, and potentially reduced grip, which could affect safety.
- Ideal for: Natural grass pitches (firm/dry).
- Not recommended for: Artificial turf (AG), soft/wet ground (SG), or indoor surfaces.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Use: Immediately after each use, knock off any loose mud or dirt. Use a damp cloth or soft brush to gently wipe down the entire surface of the boots, including the studs. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do *not* use direct heat sources like radiators, heaters, or direct sunlight, as this can cause the synthetic leather to crack or stiffen. Stuffing the boots with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store the boots in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Ensure they are completely dry before storing to prevent mildew and odor.
- Odour Control: If odours develop, consider using boot deodorizers or placing baking soda in a sock inside the boots overnight.
