The HOKA Speedgoat 7 is a high-performance trail trainer designed for neutral runners who frequently navigate technical, challenging terrain. By integrating an advanced SCF midsole for responsive energy return and a reliable Vibram Megagrip outsole, this shoe offers exceptional stability and comfort on uneven surfaces. While it excels in performance, runners should note that it is specialized for trail environments, which may impact its feel on long, flat pavement stretches compared to dedicated road shoes.

The Speedgoat 7 is designed for breathability and drainage on technical trails, but it does not feature a waterproof membrane.
While they can be worn on roads, the 5mm lugs are designed for soft and uneven terrain and will wear down faster on asphalt.
Hand wash with mild soap and cold water. Never put them in a washing machine or dryer, as the heat can damage the foam cushioning.
The Speedgoat 7 is a neutral shoe. If you have flat feet and require specific stability support, you may want to consult with a podiatrist about using custom orthotics.
The seventh generation features an updated SCF midsole for better energy return and a more refined fit around the heel and vamp for added security.
Try using the extra eyelet for a 'runner's loop' lacing technique to increase lockdown.
Consider wearing trail-specific gaiters which attach to the base of the shoe.
Ensure the lugs are cleared of dried mud and debris, which can impact the contact surface of the Vibram rubber.
To ensure the best experience with your Speedgoat 7, ensure you have selected your correct UK size for a secure fit without excessive toe pressure. As with any high-performance shoe, the initial break-in period is minimal, but we recommend short, varied-terrain walks before long-distance runs. Compatibility is highest for neutral-gait runners; those with significant overpronation may find the neutral platform lacks the medial support required. To care for your trainers, remove excess mud with a soft brush after each use and allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources, which can damage the midsole foam and adhesives.
