Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Setting up your Nike Air Zoom Mercurial Vapor XVI Academy TF shoes is straightforward:
- Lacing: Loosen the laces completely before putting on the boots. This allows your foot to slide in easily and ensures a comfortable fit.
- Fit Adjustment: Once your foot is in, gently pull the laces to achieve a snug, secure fit. Ensure the boot feels supportive without being overly tight or restrictive. Tie the laces securely.
Compatibility
- Playing Surface: These boots are specifically designed as Turf Football Trainers (TF). They are optimized for use on artificial turf surfaces, including 3G and 4G pitches. Using them on natural grass (FG) or indoor courts (IC) is not recommended, as it can reduce performance and durability.
- Age Group: Designed for adult players.
- Gender: Marketed for male players, but can be worn by anyone who fits the sizing.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your football boots:
- Cleaning After Use: After each use, remove any loose dirt or mud by gently tapping the soles together. Use a soft brush (like a toothbrush) to clean the lugs of the outsole.
- Wipe Down Upper: Dampen a soft cloth with cool water (and mild soap if necessary) and gently wipe down the NIKESKIN upper to remove any grime. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers, as this can damage the synthetic materials and adhesives.
- Odor Control: If odors develop, you can insert newspaper into the boots to absorb moisture and odor, or use specialized boot deodorizers.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
