Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Mercurial Vapor 16 Academy TF boots is straightforward:
- Lacing: Unlace the boots sufficiently to easily slide your foot in. Ensure your heel is seated comfortably at the back of the boot.
- Adjust Fit: Begin lacing from the toe end, pulling each section snugly but not too tightly. Work your way up, ensuring an even tension across your foot. The goal is a secure, locked-in feel without any pinching or excessive pressure points.
- Knot: Tie a secure knot at the top to prevent the laces from coming undone during play.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for TF (Turf) surfaces. This includes 3G, 4G, and other artificial grass pitches. They are not recommended for natural grass (firm ground, soft ground) or indoor court surfaces, as the sole pattern is optimized for turf and may not provide adequate grip or could wear prematurely on other surfaces.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your boots:
- Post-Use Cleaning: After each use, gently tap the boots together to dislodge loose turf pellets and dirt. Use a damp cloth or soft brush to wipe away any remaining grime from the upper and sole.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or other heat sources, as this can damage the materials.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place. Using a shoe tree or stuffing them with newspaper can help maintain their shape.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Do not machine wash your boots, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
