Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Lacing: Ensure the boots are laced snugly but not too tightly. Utilize all eyelets for a secure fit, especially around the Dynamic Fit collar.
- Break-In Period: Like most football boots, the Mercurial Superfly 10 Academy MG benefits from a short break-in period. Wear them for light training sessions or walks initially to allow the upper to mold to your foot shape. This helps prevent discomfort during your first full game.
Compatibility
- Surfaces: These boots are designed with a `Multi-Ground (MG)` soleplate, making them suitable for use on both natural grass (firm ground) and artificial grass pitches.
- Fit: The Mercurial series typically offers a snug, performance-oriented fit. Consider your foot width when selecting your size.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care extends the life and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Use:
- Immediately after play, remove excess mud and debris from the soleplate and upper. A soft brush or old toothbrush can be effective for studs.
- Wipe the NIKESKIN upper with a damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution can be used, but avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying:
- Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature.
- DO NOT place them directly on heaters, radiators, or in direct sunlight, as this can damage the materials and cause cracking or shrinkage.
- Stuffing them with newspaper helps absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage:
- Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
- Using a boot bag can protect them from dust and scratches.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Never machine wash or tumble dry your football boots. This can severely damage the materials, adhesives, and overall structure.
