The Xodus Ultra 4 is a neutral shoe. If you have flat feet and require specific arch support, you may wish to use a custom orthotic insole.

While they can be worn on roads, the aggressive 4mm lugs and trail-specific rubber are designed for dirt and mud. Using them on asphalt will cause the outsole to wear down significantly faster.

The drop refers to the difference in height between the heel and the forefoot. A 6mm drop provides a moderate, natural feel suitable for most trail runners.

Use warm water and a soft-bristled brush. Avoid harsh detergents as they can compromise the chemical composition of the rubber.

The Xodus Ultra 4 features a reinforced upper for protection and debris resistance, but it is not marketed as waterproof.

Most runners find these to be true to size, but since they are designed for ultra-distances where feet tend to swell, ensure you have a thumb's width of space at the toe.

Ensure the laces are tensioned correctly through all eyelets, including the runner's loop, to prevent mid-foot slippage.

Use a pair of compatible trail gaiters to seal the collar area during runs on loose sand or scree.

Thoroughly clean the lugs with a stiff brush to remove compacted mud or clay that prevents the rubber from gripping the surface.
