The Puma Deviate Nitro 4 is designed for adult runners seeking a reliable, high-performance trainer for consistent road mileage and tempo training. Featuring advanced energy-return foam and a lightweight carbon plate, these shoes provide a significant performance boost for speed-oriented workouts; however, runners who prefer a soft, maximalist cushion feel may find the structured, responsive nature of this shoe to be firmer than expected.

Yes, its combination of durability and energy return makes it well-suited for long-distance training and racing.
While the PUMAGRIP outsole is versatile, these are specifically designed for road use; they may lack the protection needed for technical trails.
The Deviate Nitro 4 is built for a neutral gait; those with severe flat feet or overpronation may require a dedicated stability shoe.
The shoe weighs 250g, making it a lightweight option for daily training.
The shoe has an 8mm heel-to-toe drop, providing a standard geometry for most runners.
Yes, it features an engineered mesh upper designed to maximize airflow during intense runs.
Ensure your lacing is not too tight; the engineered mesh is designed to be secure without excessive pressure.
Check the PUMAGRIP outsole for debris or grit buildup; clean the surface to restore full traction.
For the best experience, ensure you have the correct size for your gait; the Deviate Nitro 4 features a regular width and rounded toe box to accommodate a standard fit. Since these are performance trainers, it is recommended to rotate them with other shoes to extend the life of the nitrogen-infused foam. To maintain the shoes, wipe down the outsole after muddy runs and clean the engineered mesh with a soft brush and mild soap if needed. Avoid machine washing or drying, as high heat can degrade the integrity of the foam and adhesives.
