Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure the boots are laced securely but comfortably. The traditional lace-up design allows for a customizable fit. Experiment with different lacing patterns to find what works best for your foot shape.
- Stud Check: Before first use and periodically thereafter, ensure all screw-in studs are tightened securely. Hand-tighten them, but avoid over-tightening which can damage the threads. Carry a stud wrench for adjustments during play if needed.
- Break-in Period: K-leather naturally softens and molds to your foot over time. It's recommended to wear the boots for a few short sessions (e.g., training) before a full match to allow them to break in comfortably.
Compatibility
These adidas World Cup SG boots are specifically designed for use on very soft, muddy natural grass pitches. The screw-in studs provide superior grip in these conditions. They are not recommended for use on firm ground, artificial grass (AG), or indoor surfaces, as this can damage the studs, soleplate, and reduce performance.
Care
- Cleaning After Use: Immediately after each use, remove loose mud and dirt using a soft brush or cloth. For stubborn mud, use lukewarm water and a mild soap. Wipe the K-leather gently. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive materials.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly check screw-in studs for wear and tear. Replace worn or damaged studs promptly to maintain optimal grip and prevent soleplate damage. Replacement studs for soft ground are widely available.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area, away from direct heat sources (like radiators or direct sunlight). Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape. Never put them in a dryer.
- Conditioning (K-leather): Periodically, consider using a leather conditioner specifically designed for football boots or K-leather to keep the material supple, prevent cracking, and extend its lifespan. Apply sparingly according to product instructions.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place. Using a boot bag can protect them from dust and damage during transport.
