Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Upon receiving your boots, ensure all screw-in studs are securely tightened. This is a crucial step to prevent loss of studs during play and to ensure optimal grip. You may need a stud wrench (often included or sold separately) for this. After initial tightening, check them before each use.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for soft ground (SG). They are ideal for *natural grass pitches that are wet, muddy, or very soft*. Using them on firm ground, artificial grass, or indoor surfaces is not recommended as it can damage the studs, compromise stability, and potentially cause injury. Always match your boot type to the playing surface.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your K-leather boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe off all mud and dirt with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh brushes that can damage the leather. For stubborn dirt, a soft brush and mild soap can be used.
- Drying: Never dry your boots with direct heat (e.g., radiators, hairdryers) as this can crack and stiffen the leather. Stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and maintain their shape, then let them air dry at room temperature.
- Conditioning: Regularly apply a good quality leather conditioner specifically designed for football boots. This keeps the K-leather supple, prevents cracking, and helps maintain its water resistance.
- Stud Maintenance: Periodically remove the screw-in studs, clean the threads, and re-grease them if necessary. This prevents seizing and allows for easier replacement or adjustment.
