Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Initial Stud Check: Before your first use, ensure all screw-in studs are firmly tightened. Occasionally re-check tightness, especially after early uses, as they can loosen.
- Break-in Period: As these boots feature a Kleather upper, they will benefit from a short break-in period. Wear them for lighter activities or shorter training sessions initially to allow the leather to mold to your foot shape, optimizing comfort and fit.
Compatibility
These adidas World Cup SG boots are explicitly designed for very soft, muddy football pitches. Their screw-in stud configuration provides optimal grip on natural grass surfaces that are wet, soft, or muddy. They are not recommended for use on firm ground, artificial turf, or indoor surfaces, as this can lead to reduced performance, potential injury, and accelerated wear to both the boots and the playing surface.
Care
- Cleaning After Each Use: After every match or training session, remove excess mud and dirt using a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid harsh scrubbing that could damage the leather.
- Kleather Maintenance: To maintain the suppleness and longevity of the Kleather upper, periodically apply a specialized leather conditioner or cream. This prevents the leather from drying out and cracking.
- Drying: Always allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can cause the leather to stiffen, crack, or shrink. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly inspect the screw-in studs for wear or damage. Replace worn studs as necessary to maintain optimal grip and performance.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag, to protect them from dust and potential damage.
