Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your adidas World Cup Soft Ground Football Boots come with screw-in studs. Before your first use, and periodically thereafter, ensure all studs are securely tightened. This helps prevent loss of studs during play and maintains optimal grip. It's good practice to carry a stud wrench to make adjustments if needed during a match or training session.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for very soft, muddy football pitches. The screw-in studs provide superior traction in these challenging conditions. Using them on firm ground, artificial turf, or indoor surfaces is not recommended as it can cause excessive wear to the studs and the boot itself, and may reduce performance or increase injury risk.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your leather boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, especially on muddy pitches, wipe down the boots with a damp cloth to remove dirt and mud. If heavily soiled, use a soft brush to gently remove caked mud from the upper and soleplate.
- Stud Maintenance: Remove and clean the screw-in studs periodically. Check for wear or damage and replace any worn studs to maintain optimal grip.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources (like radiators or direct sunlight). Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Leather Conditioning: Occasionally, you may want to apply a leather conditioner specifically designed for football boots. This helps keep the leather supple and prevents it from drying out or cracking.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place when not in use.
