Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Lacing: Ensure boots are laced securely but not overly tight, allowing for natural foot movement without excessive pressure points.
- Break-In Period: Wear the boots for a few short training sessions before a full match. This allows the material to mold to your foot shape, enhancing comfort and reducing the risk of blisters.
Compatibility
- Surface: These boots are exclusively designed for soft natural ground (e.g., wet grass, muddy pitches). They are not recommended for firm ground, artificial turf, or dry fields.
- Activity: Optimal for rugby; suitable for training and match play.
- Sizing: This specific model is a UK Size 8, designed for adults. Refer to Canterbury's sizing charts for exact measurements if unsure.
Care and Maintenance
Regular care is crucial to extend the lifespan of your boots and maintain performance:
- Clean Immediately: After each use, especially on muddy pitches, remove excess mud and debris with a stiff brush or a damp cloth.
- Wipe Down: Use a mild soap and water solution with a soft cloth to clean the boot's surface. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Check Studs: Regularly inspect studs for wear, damage, or looseness. Tighten or replace as necessary. Loose or worn studs can compromise grip and cause injury.
- Air Dry: Always air dry your boots naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, direct sunlight) as this can damage materials and cause them to crack.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place. Using boot trees can help maintain their shape.
- Deodorize: Consider using boot deodorizers or stuffing with newspaper to absorb moisture and odors.
