Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
Upon receiving your boots, inspect them for any manufacturing imperfections. Before your first use, ensure the laces are threaded correctly and are long enough to tie securely, providing a snug yet comfortable fit around your foot.
Compatibility
These boots are purpose-built for soft ground (SG) conditions, characterized by natural grass pitches that are wet, muddy, or yielding. They are designed for adult rugby players and are unisex. Using them on firm ground, artificial turf, or hard surfaces can damage the studs, reduce performance, and potentially lead to injury.
Care & Maintenance
- Immediate Cleaning: After each use, especially on muddy pitches, use a brush or sponge to remove all excess mud and debris from the upper and sole. This prevents mud from hardening and degrading the material.
- Gentle Washing: If necessary, wash the boots with lukewarm water and a mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents or hot water, as these can damage the materials.
- Drying: Do not tumble dry or place near direct heat sources (like radiators), as this can cause the material to crack or shrink. Instead, stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape, then air dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
- Stud Check: Regularly inspect your studs for wear and tear. Replace any worn or damaged studs to maintain optimal grip and prevent injury. Ensure they are tightened before each game.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag to protect them from dust and damage.
