Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Begin by loosening the laces completely. Slide your foot into the boot, ensuring your heel is seated comfortably at the back. Pull the laces through the hook eyelets, starting from the bottom, and progressively tighten them. Ensure the lacing is snug but not constrictive, allowing for good ankle flexibility.
- Socks: For optimal comfort and moisture management, wear appropriate hiking socks. These typically offer cushioning and wicking properties to prevent blisters and keep feet dry.
- Break-in: While comfortable out of the box, it is recommended to wear the boots for shorter walks before embarking on long hikes to allow them to conform to your feet.
Compatibility
These boots are designed for adult male outdoor enthusiasts and are compatible with various terrains, including moderate to challenging hiking trails, woodland paths, and general outdoor adventures. Their robust construction and waterproof features make them suitable for diverse weather conditions.
Care Instructions
Proper care is vital to maintain the performance and extend the lifespan of your Karrimor Skiddaw Walking Boots:
- Cleaning: After use, remove any loose dirt or mud by brushing the boots. Then, wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh detergents or abrasive materials, as these can damage the Weathertite membrane and outer materials.
- Drying: Always air dry your boots naturally at room temperature. Remove the insoles to allow for better airflow inside. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or place near direct heat sources (like radiators or open fires), as extreme heat can damage the materials and waterproof membrane.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight when not in use.
