FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for long-distance running?
While inspired by performance running silhouettes, the Gel 1130 is designed as a lifestyle and casual trainer. For long-distance running, consider Asics models specifically engineered for high-mileage athletics.
Is the material real leather?
The upper features synthetic leather panelling, which offers high durability while maintaining a lightweight profile.
How do I ensure I pick the right size?
The Gel 1130 uses standard UK adult sizing. It is recommended to choose the size you wear in most other casual sneakers.
Can I put these in the washing machine?
It is not recommended to wash these in a machine. Machine washing can damage the adhesive and synthetic leather; manual cleaning is the safest method.
What is the primary inspiration for this model?
The design is heavily inspired by the GEL-KAYANO 14, reimagined with modern materials to suit contemporary lifestyle needs.
Troubleshooting
Visible dirt on white synthetic surfaces
Use a specialized sneaker cleaner or a mild soap solution with a soft brush, followed by wiping with a clean damp cloth.
Insole becomes uncomfortable after heavy use
The included insoles are removable; consider replacing them with aftermarket orthotics if you require specific arch support.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Asics Gel 1130 trainers remain in top condition, follow these guidelines:
- Fit: The shoes follow standard UK adult sizing; ensure you wear your typical running shoe size for the best fit.
- Cleaning: Wipe the synthetic leather surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid submerging the shoes in water or using harsh detergents.
- Drying: Air dry the shoes at room temperature. Never place them in a clothes dryer or directly on a heat source, as this may warp the synthetic materials.
- Storage: Keep them in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight to prevent discoloration of the white material.
