FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for running?
While inspired by performance running shoes, the GEL 1130 is primarily positioned as a lifestyle trainer for casual use.
How do I choose the right size?
These trainers follow standard adult UK sizing. It is recommended to choose the size you typically wear in other athletic footwear.
Can I put these in the washing machine?
No, machine washing can damage the adhesive and synthetic leather material. Always clean by hand.
What materials are used in the upper?
The upper features synthetic leather panelling designed to replicate the look and feel of traditional performance footwear.
Is the material breathable?
The synthetic leather construction offers moderate breathability, suitable for daily wear in varied climates.
Troubleshooting
Visible dirt on synthetic leather
Use a damp microfiber cloth with mild soapy water to gently wipe the affected area.
Stiffness when new
Wear the shoes for short periods at home to allow the synthetic leather to conform to your foot shape naturally.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Clean, versatile aesthetic suitable for various outfits
- Sturdy synthetic leather upper provides long-lasting structure
- Balanced cushioning suitable for daily use
- Iconic design heritage inspired by performance running shoes
Cons
- Light-colored material is susceptible to scuffs and dirt
- Synthetic leather may feel stiffer than fabric alternatives initially
- Not intended for heavy-duty professional sports performance
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your ASICS GEL 1130 Trainers last, avoid submerging them in water or using harsh industrial detergents. For daily care, wipe the synthetic leather panels with a soft, damp cloth to remove surface dust. If scuffs occur on the white surface, a dedicated sneaker cleaner designed for synthetic leather is recommended. Ensure the shoes are air-dried away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can cause the material to warp or crack. Pair these trainers with neutral-toned socks to maintain the minimalist aesthetic of the white colorway.
