FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for long-distance running?
While based on a 2008 running silhouette, the GEL-1130 is primarily positioned as a lifestyle and casual trainer today.
How do I determine my size?
These trainers use standard UK adult sizing. It is recommended to use your current size in other ASICS stability models as a baseline.
Is the material waterproof?
No, the leather and mesh construction is not waterproof. It is best to avoid heavy rain to maintain the quality of the materials.
What does the GEL technology do?
The GEL technology in the heel is designed to absorb shock during impact, providing comfort and stability.
Can I replace the insoles?
Yes, the insoles are removable, allowing you to insert custom orthotics if required for additional support.
Troubleshooting
The shoe feels too tight across the midfoot
Try adjusting the lacing pattern to be looser at the midsection or ensure your socks are not too thick.
Creasing appearing on the upper
This is normal for leather-based materials; using shoe trees when not in use can help maintain the shape.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your GEL-1130 trainers maintain their aesthetic and performance, follow these guidelines:
- Sizing: These trainers follow standard adult sizing; ensure you select the appropriate UK size for your foot dimensions.
- Break-in: Due to the leather components, wear the shoes for shorter durations initially to allow the material to conform to your foot shape.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the leather and synthetic surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid submerging the shoes in water or using harsh chemical cleaners, as these can damage the materials.
- Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct heat sources, which can cause the leather to crack or the adhesives to weaken over time.
