Setup, Compatibility & Care
This non-woven wallpaper is designed for straightforward installation, but proper preparation is key for a flawless finish.
Setup Instructions
- Prepare the Walls: Ensure walls are clean, dry, smooth, and free from old wallpaper, grease, or flaky paint. Fill any holes or cracks and sand rough areas. For best results, prime porous walls or dark surfaces to ensure uniform colour and adhesion.
- Measure and Cut: Measure the height of your wall, adding 5-10 cm (2-4 inches) extra to each strip for trimming. Cut the first strip, then unroll and match the pattern for subsequent strips before cutting.
- Apply Paste to the Wall: Use a good quality `ready-mixed wallpaper paste` designed for non-woven wallpapers. Apply the paste directly to the wall section where the first strip will go, slightly wider than the strip itself.
- Hang the First Strip: Carefully position the first strip at the top of the wall, ensuring it's straight (use a plumb line). Smooth it down with a wallpaper brush or smoother, working from the center outwards to remove air bubbles.
- Match and Hang Subsequent Strips: Align the next strip's pattern precisely with the previous one. Apply paste to the wall and smooth the strip into place, ensuring seams are tightly butted together.
- Trim Excess: Once all strips are hung, carefully trim excess paper at the ceiling and skirting boards using a sharp knife and a straight edge.
- Clean Up: Gently wipe away any excess paste from the wallpaper surface and seams with a clean, damp sponge before it dries.
Compatibility
- Surfaces: Compatible with most smooth, clean, and dry interior walls. Not recommended for textured or uneven surfaces without prior preparation.
- Rooms: Suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, hallways, home offices, and other residential spaces. Ensure adequate ventilation in bathrooms or kitchens if used there.
Care Instructions
- Cleaning: The non-woven material is generally `wipeable`. Gently clean any marks with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners or excessive scrubbing, which could damage the surface or pattern.
- Maintenance: Regularly dust the wallpaper to maintain its appearance. Address any loose seams promptly with a small amount of wallpaper adhesive.
- Longevity: With proper installation and care, this durable wallpaper is designed to last for years.
