Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup and Application
Applying your AS Creation Wood Panel Non-Woven Wallpaper is designed to be straightforward, but attention to detail will ensure a professional finish. This is a `paste-the-wall` wallpaper, simplifying the process.
- Prepare the Wall: Ensure your wall surface is clean, dry, smooth, and free from any loose paint or debris. Fill any holes or cracks and sand smooth for the best result. A primer can be used for highly absorbent walls.
- Measure and Cut: Measure the height of your wall and cut the wallpaper strips, adding an extra 5-10 cm at both the top and bottom for trimming. Remember to account for the seamless pattern repeat when cutting subsequent strips.
- Apply Paste: Generously apply a high-quality non-woven wallpaper paste directly to the wall area where the first strip will be placed. Ensure even coverage up to the edges.
- Position the Wallpaper: Take your first strip and align it carefully from the top of the wall, letting the extra length overlap at the ceiling and floor. Press it into the pasted section.
- Smooth and Fix: Use a wallpaper brush or smoother to gently press the wallpaper onto the wall, working from the center outwards to remove any air bubbles or wrinkles. Trim the excess at the top and bottom with a sharp utility knife.
- Match the Pattern: For subsequent strips, apply paste to the next wall section. Carefully position the next strip, aligning its pattern perfectly with the previous strip. The `seamless repeat` design simplifies this, but precision is key for a continuous look. Press and smooth as before.
Compatibility
This wallpaper is compatible with most interior walls that are smooth, dry, and clean. It adheres best to surfaces prepared for wallpaper application. It is not recommended for highly textured surfaces or areas subject to constant moisture (e.g., inside a shower cubicle).
Care and Maintenance
Caring for your AS Creation Wood Panel Non-Woven Wallpaper is simple due to its durable nature.
- Cleaning: Its abrasion-resistant quality means it can be gently wiped clean. Use a soft, damp cloth with plain water for general dusting or light marks. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these could damage the finish.
- Avoidance: Keep sharp objects away from the wallpaper to prevent scratching or tearing.
- Durability: The highly lightfast property ensures the colour and design remain vibrant over time, even in sunlit rooms.
