Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Prepare Your Walls: Ensure walls are clean, dry, smooth, and free from loose paint or dust. Fill any cracks or holes and sand smooth. Priming the wall is highly recommended for optimal adhesion and easier future removal.
- Measure and Cut: Measure your wall height and cut wallpaper strips, adding a few extra inches to the top and bottom for trimming. Pay close attention to pattern matching to ensure the slat design aligns seamlessly across strips.
- Apply Adhesive: This wallpaper is designed for ease of application. Consult the product packaging for specific adhesive recommendations (e.g., 'paste the wall' or 'paste the paper'). Apply the recommended wallpaper paste evenly to either the wall or the back of the wallpaper strip.
- Hang the Wallpaper: Starting from a plumb line, carefully hang the first strip, pressing it firmly against the wall. Use a wallpaper brush or smoother to remove air bubbles, working from the center outwards.
- Match and Trim: Align subsequent strips, carefully matching the slat pattern. Trim excess wallpaper at the ceiling and baseboards using a sharp utility knife and a straight edge.
- Clean Up: Gently wipe away any excess paste with a damp sponge before it dries.
Compatibility
This wallpaper is generally compatible with most interior wall surfaces, including plaster, drywall, and previously painted walls, provided they are properly prepared as described above.
Care
- Cleaning: For general maintenance, gently wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
- Durability: The high-quality design ensures durability, making it resistant to minor scuffs and marks under normal household conditions.
> Info needed: Specific washability symbols or instructions (e.g., wipeable, scrubbable) are usually found on the product label. Refer to your roll's label for precise care instructions.
