Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure the laces are threaded through all eyelets. Start lacing from the bottom, pulling firmly but not excessively tight, working your way up. Tie the laces securely to achieve a 'locked-in' feel that prevents your foot from sliding inside the boot. A double knot can provide extra security during play.
- Break-in: While synthetic boots generally require less break-in than leather, it's advisable to wear them for a few light training sessions before a competitive match. This allows the material to soften and adapt to your foot shape, maximizing comfort and performance.
Compatibility
These boots feature a Firm/Multi-Ground (FG/MG) outsole, making them suitable for:
- Firm Ground (FG): Natural grass pitches that are dry or slightly damp.
- Artificial Ground (MG): Modern artificial turf surfaces.
*Note*: They are not recommended for extremely soft, muddy natural grass (where Soft Ground (SG) studs are needed) or indoor courts.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Use: Immediately after playing, wipe off any excess mud or dirt with a damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a soft brush or sponge with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources (like radiators or direct sunlight), which can damage the synthetic material. You can stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures for prolonged periods.
- Insoles: Remove and air out insoles periodically to prevent odor buildup and allow them to dry completely.
