FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for long-distance running?
While based on running blueprints, the Gel 1130 is positioned as a lifestyle sneaker and is best suited for walking and daily casual use.
Does the synthetic leather stretch over time?
Synthetic leather has less 'give' than natural materials, meaning they will retain their shape well but won't stretch significantly.
How do I ensure I have the right fit?
Asics generally follow standard sizing; ensure there is about a thumb's width of space between your longest toe and the front of the shoe.
Can I put these in the washing machine?
It is not recommended to machine wash these shoes as the agitation and heat can damage the leather panelling and adhesives.
Are these trainers water-resistant?
The synthetic leather provides a degree of protection against light splashes, but they are not waterproof.
Troubleshooting
Shoes feeling too stiff during initial wear
Synthetic leather requires a short break-in period; wear them for shorter durations initially until the material adapts to your foot shape.
Scuff marks on the white synthetic leather
Use a specialized sneaker eraser or a soft cloth with a tiny amount of non-abrasive white shoe cleaner.
Pros and Cons

- Durable synthetic leather construction
- Versatile white aesthetic matches most wardrobes
- Reliable brand heritage and build quality
Cons
- Limited to lifestyle usage rather than professional athletic performance
- White colorway may require frequent cleaning to maintain appearance
- Synthetic leather may feel stiffer than fabric alternatives
Setup, Compatibility & Care
As these are standard lace-up trainers, no complex setup is required. To ensure your trainers remain in top condition, follow these care guidelines:
- Routine Cleaning: Wipe the synthetic leather surfaces with a soft, damp cloth after each use to prevent dirt build-up.
- Deep Cleaning: Use a mild soap solution for tougher stains; avoid submerging the shoes in water or using harsh chemical cleaners that could degrade the synthetic finish.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the white material from yellowing or warping.
- Laces: Remove and hand-wash laces separately if they become soiled to maintain the fresh look of the trainer.
