FAQs

Is Birdcage Walk No.117 suitable for high-traffic areas?

Yes, depending on the finish selected. Ensure you choose the appropriate paint type, such as Eggshell or Multi-Surface Gloss, which are generally more durable for trim and doors.

Do I have to use a primer?

While not always strictly required on every surface, we strongly recommend using the Light Grey Primer and Undercoat to ensure the best color payoff and longevity of the finish.

Can this be used on furniture?

Yes, the Multi-Surface variants are well-suited for interior furniture projects.

How many coats are typically needed?

Two coats are generally recommended for full coverage and color saturation.

Does the color change in different lighting?

Yes, as an earth-toned grey, it will react to different light temperatures, appearing warmer or cooler throughout the day.

Troubleshooting

Color appears uneven or streaky.

Ensure the surface was primed with Mylands Light Grey Primer and apply a second coat for full opacity.

Paint is peeling or flaking.

The surface was likely not cleaned or primed correctly. Sand the area, re-prime with a suitable base, and repaint.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To achieve the best outcome with Birdcage Walk No.117, follow these guidelines:

Preparation: Ensure walls or surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust or grease before painting.
Priming: Always use the recommended Mylands Light Grey Primer and Undercoat. This provides a neutral base that helps the pigment adhere properly and ensures the final color depth is accurate.
Mixing: Stir the paint thoroughly before use to ensure the pigments are properly dispersed.
Application: Use appropriate applicators for the chosen finish (e.g., roller for emulsion, fine brush for gloss/eggshell).
Care: Clean tools with water or specific cleaning agents as indicated on the label immediately after use. For long-term care, clean surfaces with a soft, damp cloth.
