Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup & Break-In
As with all premium leather football boots, the Copa Mundial requires a break-in period to achieve its optimal 'glove-like' fit. Wear them for short, light training sessions or casual use initially. The kangaroo leather will gradually mold to your foot's unique contours, improving comfort and touch. Many players wear them in the shower or with damp socks to accelerate this process, but ensure they dry naturally afterward.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG). This means they are ideal for use on:
- Natural grass pitches that are dry and firm.
They are not recommended for:
- Artificial Grass (AG) or Artificial Turf (AT) pitches, as the stud configuration is not optimized for these surfaces and can lead to excessive wear or injury.
- Soft Ground (SG) or extremely wet conditions, where longer, often metal, studs are required for grip.
- Indoor courts, which require non-marking soles.
Product Care & Maintenance
Proper care is crucial for prolonging the life and maintaining the performance of your leather Copa Mundial boots:
- Clean After Every Use: Immediately after playing, wipe off excess dirt and mud with a damp cloth or soft brush. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive materials.
- Remove Stud Debris: Check between the studs for any trapped mud, grass, or small stones.
- Natural Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Never place them near direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, hairdryers), as this can cause the leather to crack, shrink, or harden.
- Stuff for Shape Retention: Stuff the boots with newspaper or a shoe tree while drying to help absorb moisture and maintain their original shape.
- Leather Conditioning: Regularly apply a high-quality leather conditioner or cream designed for football boots to keep the kangaroo leather soft, supple, and prevent cracking. Apply sparingly and buff gently.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
- Avoid Submerging: Do not submerge the boots in water or machine wash them.
