Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
New leather boots like the Copa Mundial typically require a short break-in period to mold to your feet.
- Wear indoors: Begin by wearing them around the house for a few hours over several days.
- Short training sessions: Gradually introduce them to light training sessions on a firm ground pitch.
- Moisture: Some players lightly dampen the inside of the boots (especially the toe box) with lukewarm water before wearing to help the leather stretch and conform to their foot shape faster. Avoid soaking the entire boot.
Compatibility
- Surface: These boots are designed exclusively for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces, which refers to natural grass pitches that are dry and firm. Using them on artificial turf (AG) or soft ground (SG) can lead to premature wear of the studs and outsole, and may compromise grip.
- Player Type: Suitable for adult male players across all positions who prefer a traditional leather boot with excellent touch and comfort.
Care
Proper care will significantly extend the life and maintain the performance of your leather Copa Mundials.
- Clean After Each Use: Remove excess mud and dirt with a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Dry Naturally: Stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape. Allow them to air dry at room temperature, away from direct heat sources (like radiators or direct sunlight), which can crack or stiffen the leather.
- Condition Leather: Periodically apply a leather conditioner to keep the kangaroo leather supple and prevent it from drying out and cracking. Follow the product instructions for application.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Using a shoe tree can help maintain their shape when not in use.
