Product Information

Full details

The Regatta Frankie Half Zip Fleece is an ideal choice for active men seeking a versatile mid-layer for outdoor adventures or casual daily wear. Crafted from soft microfleece with reinforcing poplin panels, this garment provides essential warmth and improved durability against the elements, though its lighter weight design means it is best used as a layering piece in particularly harsh or wet conditions rather than a standalone outer shell.

FAQs

Is this fleece waterproof?

No, the Regatta Frankie Fleece is made of polyester microfleece and is not waterproof. It is designed to provide insulation.

Can I wear this under a rain jacket?

Yes, its low-profile design makes it an excellent mid-layer to wear under a waterproof shell.

Does the fleece have pockets?

It features a single zipped chest pocket suitable for small items.

What material is this made from?

It is constructed from polyester, featuring microfleece fabric with durable poplin panel overlays.

How do I choose the right size?

The item follows standard sizing; choose your usual size for a comfortable fit, or size up if you prefer a looser fit for extra layering.

Troubleshooting

Static buildup in the fabric

Static is common with polyester fleece; try using an anti-static spray or washing with a small amount of vinegar in the rinse cycle.

Pilling on the surface after frequent use

Use a fabric shaver or a dedicated pilling comb to gently remove surface lint and restore the fleece's smooth appearance.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Soft and comfortable microfleece material
Reinforced panels provide extra durability
Easy to layer under waterproof jackets
Secure chest pocket for storage
Elasticated trims prevent heat loss

Cons

Not intended as a fully waterproof outer layer
Limited coverage compared to full-zip models
Requires careful temperature management in extreme cold

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Because the Regatta Frankie Fleece is a pullover garment, setup is as simple as layering it over your preferred base. It is compatible with most standard outdoor shells and insulated jackets. To ensure the longevity of the fabric:

Machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle with similar colors.
Avoid using fabric softeners, as they can degrade the technical properties of the fleece.
Air dry whenever possible to maintain the integrity of the stretch trims.
If using a tumble dryer, choose the lowest heat setting to prevent shrinking or damage to the synthetic fibers.
