Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Upon receiving your new Nike Mercurial Vapor 16 Pro AG boots, it's recommended to wear them for a few light training sessions before a full match. This allows the Flyknit upper to gradually mold to your foot shape, optimizing comfort and fit. Ensure you wear appropriate football socks for the best fit and feel.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically engineered with an AG-Pro soleplate, making them exclusively compatible with Artificial Grass (AG) pitches. Using them on other surfaces, such as natural firm ground (FG), soft ground (SG), or hard ground (HG), can lead to premature wear and tear of the soleplate and studs, and may also compromise performance and increase the risk of injury. Always check the type of playing surface before use.
Care
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your boots, follow these care instructions:
- Cleaning: After each use, remove loose dirt and debris using a soft brush or cloth. Wipe down the entire boot, including the upper and soleplate, with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap (if necessary). Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, especially on the tacky skin finish.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct sunlight or use artificial heat sources (like radiators or hair dryers), as this can damage the materials, especially the Flyknit and the soleplate.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using a boot bag can protect them from dust and scratches. Avoid storing them in excessively humid environments.
- Stud Inspection: Regularly inspect the AG studs for any signs of wear or damage. While designed for durability on artificial turf, extreme use can lead to wear over time. Ensure no debris is lodged between the studs.
