Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Setting up your Nike Mercurial Vapor 16 Pro AG boots is straightforward:
- Lacing: Ensure laces are securely tied to provide a snug, comfortable fit. Experiment with different lacing techniques to find what best suits your foot shape and playing style.
- Break-in: Like all high-performance footwear, a short break-in period is recommended. Wear them for light training sessions before competitive matches to allow the Flyknit upper to mold to your foot.
Compatibility
These boots are exclusively designed for Artificial Grass (AG) surfaces. The stud configuration and soleplate material are optimized for the specific characteristics of artificial turf, providing optimal grip, energy return, and durability. Using these boots on natural grass (FG), firm ground (FG), soft ground (SG), or indoor surfaces may compromise performance, increase wear, and could potentially lead to injury or damage to the boots.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning after Use: After every game or training session, wipe down the boots with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. For tougher mud, a soft brush can be used carefully on the soleplate and upper.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or other heat sources, as excessive heat can damage the Flyknit material and adhesives.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures. Consider using shoe trees or crumpled newspaper inside to help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use strong detergents or solvents, as these can strip the tacky finish and damage the Flyknit material.
