Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Before your first use, ensure the boots are laced properly for a snug yet comfortable fit. Adjust the laces to secure your foot without excessive tightness.
- Break-in Period: Like most performance football boots, the Mercurial Vapor 16 Pro AG may require a short break-in period. Wear them for light training sessions or walks before competitive matches to allow the materials to mold to your foot shape.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for AG (Artificial Ground) surfaces. The stud configuration is optimized for synthetic turf pitches, providing excellent traction and reducing stud pressure. Using them on natural grass (Firm Ground - FG, or Soft Ground - SG) is not recommended, as it can lead to reduced grip, increased wear on the studs, and potential discomfort.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, remove loose dirt and debris from the upper and soleplate using a soft brush or a damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a mild soap solution, then wipe clean with plain water.
- Drying: Always allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or tumble dryers, as extreme heat can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb excess moisture and maintain their shape.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly check the AG studs for wear or damage. While durable, artificial turf can be abrasive.
