Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure the boots are laced securely but not overly tight. Adjust the laces to achieve a snug fit that supports your foot without causing pressure points.
- Break-In Period: Like most new football boots, the Phantom GX 2 Academy FG/MG will benefit from a break-in period. Wear them for a few shorter training sessions before using them in a full match to allow them to mold to your feet.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) and Multi-Ground (MG) pitches. This includes natural grass fields that are dry and firm, as well as various types of artificial turf. They are sized for adult males, with this specific variant being UK size 7.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, remove loose dirt and mud by gently tapping the boots together. Use a damp cloth and mild soap to wipe down the surface. For stubborn dirt, a soft brush can be used on the soleplate.
- Drying: Always allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or tumble dryers, as excessive heat can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Using a boot bag can help protect them from scuffs and scratches when transporting.
- Inspection: Regularly check the studs and soleplate for wear and tear. Address any damage promptly to maintain performance and prolong the life of the boots.
