The ASICS GEL-Sonoma 8 GTX trainers are designed for adult male trail runners who require reliable performance in unpredictable outdoor environments. By integrating a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane with advanced rearfoot cushioning, these shoes provide exceptional protection and comfort on wet or muddy terrains. While they offer superior grip and weather resistance, the robust build and waterproofing mean they may feel slightly less breathable than lightweight road-specific racing flats during intense summer heat.

Yes, the GEL-Sonoma 8 GTX includes a GORE-TEX membrane that provides a waterproof barrier against rain and shallow puddles.
While they are designed for trails, the cushioning makes them comfortable for road sections, though the aggressive lugs may wear down faster on hard pavement.
The GEL-Sonoma 8 is designed for neutral runners. If you require specific arch support, you may consider replacing the stock insole with a custom orthotic.
Hand wash with a damp cloth and mild soap. Never machine wash or tumble dry your trainers.
Yes, they typically follow standard ASICS sizing, but it is recommended to leave a thumb's width of space at the front for descending trails.
Ensure your socks are not wicking moisture into the shoe from the top; check that the tongue is pulled up and securely beneath your laces.
Check the lugs for packed-in mud or debris. Use a stiff brush to clear the tread patterns to restore the original grip level.
Check your lacing tension; over-tightening can restrict blood flow and create pressure points during foot swelling, which naturally occurs during distance running.
To ensure the longevity of your GEL-Sonoma 8 GTX trainers, proper maintenance is essential.
Setup: For a new pair, perform a short "break-in" walk or light jog to allow the upper to adapt to your foot shape before attempting long-distance runs.
