The Asics Gel-Sonoma 8 GTX is a rugged trail running trainer designed for adult male athletes who require reliable protection and comfort in unpredictable outdoor environments. It features a GORE-TEX waterproof upper and advanced cushioning, making it ideal for wet or challenging terrain; however, users should note that the added weather protection may result in a slightly firmer fit compared to non-waterproof road running shoes.

Yes, the GORE-TEX construction provides a waterproof barrier against rain and snow.
While designed for trails, they can be used on pavement, though the outsole lugs will wear down faster than on a road-specific shoe.
Use a soft brush to remove dried mud and a damp cloth for spots; do not use harsh detergents or bleach.
Asics generally fit true to size, but the waterproof membrane can make the shoe feel slightly more structured or snug.
It provides consistent, durable underfoot comfort and responsiveness specifically for the demands of off-road running.
Ensure you are wearing moisture-wicking synthetic socks rather than cotton, which traps moisture.
Clean the outsole with a brush to remove packed mud and debris from the lug pattern.
Perform a short 'break-in' period by walking or performing light jogs for several miles to allow the midsole materials to soften.
To ensure the best performance from your Asics Gel-Sonoma 8 GTX trainers, start with a proper fit that allows for slight swelling during longer runs. For care, avoid machine washing or drying, as this can damage the GORE-TEX membrane and internal adhesives. After muddy outings, remove surface dirt with a soft-bristle brush and wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Air dry the shoes at room temperature away from direct heat sources like radiators, as excessive heat can cause the materials to warp or degrade.
