Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Proper preparation and care ensure the best results and longevity for your painted surfaces.
Setup & Preparation
- Clean the Surface: Ensure the masonry surface is clean, dry, and free from dirt, loose material, mould, or algae. Use a stiff brush or power washer for thorough cleaning. For mould/algae, consider a fungicidal wash.
- Repair: Fill any cracks or holes with appropriate exterior filler and allow it to dry completely.
- Prime (if necessary): For highly porous or powdery surfaces, a suitable masonry primer or stabiliser may be required to ensure good adhesion and uniform absorption. Allow primer to dry as per its instructions.
- Stir Well: Before use, stir the paint thoroughly to ensure an even consistency and colour.
- Application: Apply the paint using a brush or roller. For best results, apply two coats.
- Recoat Time: Allow a minimum of 4 hours drying time between coats. Do not apply in direct sunlight or if rain is expected.
Compatibility
- Suitable Surfaces: This paint is specifically formulated for exterior masonry surfaces including brick, concrete, pebble-dash, and render.
- Not Recommended For: Smooth, non-porous surfaces without proper priming, or surfaces that are consistently damp.
Care & Maintenance
- Tool Cleaning: Clean brushes and rollers immediately after use with water as this is a water-based paint. Wipe off excess paint before washing.
- Storage: Store the tester pot in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and frost. Ensure the lid is tightly sealed to prevent the paint from drying out.
- Surface Cleaning: Once dry and cured (typically a few days), the painted surface can be gently cleaned with mild soap and water if needed, though its weather-resistant properties generally keep it looking good.
