A new addition to the crankbrothers shoes range for 2024, these shoes are designed for the trail. They feature a stiff outsole for power transfer combined with aggressive lugs for hike-a-bike adventure opportunities. The shoes arrive with cleats and cleat shims to enable riders to fine-tune their shoe-pedal match. For Mallet Trail / Candy pedals, set your cleat placement. If running Mallet E or DH pedals, switch the cleat shim for the grey option included. The outsole is designed for balanced traction on and off the bike with great walkability and an optimised pedal interface. It includes a stiff fiber-reinforced nylon shank for efficient power transfer, an extended heel for support and balance, rubber wraps for toe protection, and a low-rebound EVA midsole to dampen vibration. The upper features an integrated lace pocket for retention, enhanced breathability via laser-cut perforations, an EVA insole to absorb shock, a padded tongue, PU film for abrasion resistance and easy cleaning, a relaxed fit for all-day comfort, a padded heel cup for retention and comfort, and robust TPU toe protection. The cleat box is ramped for easy pedal entry and mud shedding, with an extended 35mm cleat track allowing for a rearward position for added control and stability whilst descending. The MC1 rubber compound offers mid-friction for easy entry and exit. Suggested cleat shim setup: Grey 1.5mm (included) for Mallet E / Mallet DH pedals; Black 1.0mm (installed under cleat) for Mallet Trail, Candy, Doubleshot pedals.
