The Brooks Ghost 18 is best suited for adult runners with a neutral gait who need a shoe that offers a blend of soft cushioning and balanced support for daily road running.
It is generally recommended to replace running shoes, including the Ghost 18, every 300-500 miles (500-800 kilometers) or when you notice significant wear or a reduction in cushioning.

The Ghost series is known for its consistent, balanced cushioning and neutral support, making it a reliable daily trainer. Other Brooks models might offer more specialized features like maximal cushioning (e.g., Glycerin) or stability for overpronation (e.g., Adrenaline GTS).
Ensure you have the correct size and width. Break in the shoes gradually with shorter runs. Check sock compatibility and ensure they are properly fitted.
Cushioning naturally degrades with mileage. Consider replacing the shoes after approximately 300-500 miles (500-800 km) of use.
The outsole is designed for road traction; wet surfaces can reduce grip. Run with caution on wet pavement and consider slower paces.
Setup: These are ready to wear straight out of the box. Ensure you have the correct size for optimal comfort and performance.
Compatibility: Designed for road running. Suitable for neutral pronation. They are compatible with most standard athletic socks.
