This Johnstone's Ivory Matt Emulsion paint is designed for homeowners and DIY enthusiasts looking to achieve a professional, sophisticated matte finish on interior walls and ceilings. Its primary benefit lies in its smooth, creamy consistency and excellent coverage, which effectively conceals surface imperfections to provide a uniform, high-quality look. While it offers superior durability and a wipeable surface, users should note that as a matte emulsion, it is best suited for low-to-medium traffic areas to maintain its aesthetic integrity over time.

This emulsion is primarily for living areas and bedrooms. For bathrooms with high humidity, a specialized moisture-resistant paint is recommended.
While the paint has excellent coverage, two coats are usually recommended to achieve a uniform finish and true color depth.
Yes, this paint is specifically formulated to be used on both walls and ceilings for a cohesive look.
It is a quick-drying formula, though touch-dry times can vary based on room temperature and humidity.
This product is designed for walls and ceilings. For wood (like skirting or doors), use a dedicated wood paint or enamel.
Since it is a water-based emulsion, you can clean brushes and rollers using warm, soapy water.
Work in smaller sections to ensure the edges remain wet and avoid over-working the paint once it begins to set.
Apply a high-quality primer or undercoat first, or ensure you are applying the recommended number of coats with adequate drying time between.
Ensure the underlying surface was properly prepared and free of dust, grease, or loose debris before application.
Before starting, ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose paint, dust, or grease. If painting over new plaster, apply a mist coat (a diluted mixture of paint and water) to prevent the plaster from absorbing too much moisture. Use high-quality synthetic brushes for cutting in at corners and a medium-pile roller for large flat areas. For maintenance, keep the surface looking fresh by gently wiping with a damp, soft cloth to remove surface dirt. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive sponges, as these can damage the matte finish. Store the paint in a cool, dry place, ensuring the lid is sealed tightly after each use to prevent the paint from drying out.
