Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the curtains from their packaging. It's recommended to let them hang for a day or two before installation to allow any packaging creases to naturally fall out.
- Choose Your Pole: Ensure you have a standard curtain pole. The eyelet header is designed to simply slide onto such poles.
- Install the Pole: If not already installed, securely mount your curtain pole above your window frame, ensuring it is level and extends sufficiently beyond the window's width to allow the curtains to open fully.
- Hang the Curtains: Thread the eyelets of each curtain panel onto the curtain pole. Alternate the direction of the first eyelet so that the leading edge of the curtain faces towards the window when closed.
- Adjust and Arrange: Once both panels are on the pole, slide them into your desired position. Arrange the fabric folds evenly for an attractive, neat drape.
Compatibility
These eyelet curtains are compatible with any standard curtain pole. They are not designed for track systems that require hooks or rings.
Care
To maintain the beauty and longevity of your Alan Symonds Velvet Chenille Eyelet Curtains, follow these care instructions:
- Washing: Machine washable. Use a gentle cycle with cold or lukewarm water.
- Detergent: Use a mild detergent. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Line dry only. Do not tumble dry, as this can damage the velvet chenille fabric or affect its drape. Hang them smoothly to reduce creasing.
- Ironing: If necessary, iron on a very low heat setting on the reverse side. A garment steamer can also be used gently to remove wrinkles.
- General Maintenance: Regularly dust or gently vacuum the curtains using a brush attachment to prevent dust build-up.
