Setup, Compatibility & Care
First Use & Break-In
When you first receive your Nike Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly X Academy FG MG boots, it's recommended to wear them for short periods during light training sessions before a full match. This allows the NIKESKIN upper and Dynamic Fit collar to mold to your foot and ankle shape, ensuring optimal comfort and performance. The snug fit is intentional for ball control and responsiveness.
Compatibility (Surfaces)
These boots feature a Multi-Ground (FG/MG) soleplate, making them compatible with:
- Firm Natural Grass (FG) pitches: Standard dry or slightly damp natural grass fields.
- Artificial Grass (AG) pitches: Modern artificial turf surfaces.
Avoid using these boots on extremely hard ground, concrete, or indoor surfaces, as this can damage the soleplate and compromise stud integrity.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care extends the life and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe off excess dirt and mud with a damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a soft brush and mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct sunlight or use artificial heat sources (like radiators or hair dryers), as this can cause the materials to crack or shrink. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag or box, away from extreme temperatures.
- Insole Care: Remove and air out insoles periodically to prevent odor and maintain freshness. They can be hand-washed with mild soap if needed.
- Inspection: Regularly check the studs and soleplate for wear or damage. Minor scuffs are normal, but deep gouges or loose studs should be addressed to maintain safety and performance.
