Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Sizing: Ensure you select the correct UK size (e.g., 8.5 UK for this model). Football boots should fit snugly but not uncomfortably tight, with about a thumb's width space between your longest toe and the end of the boot.
- Lacing: Lace your boots securely but not excessively tight. Experiment with different lacing patterns to find what provides the best lockdown and comfort for your foot shape.
- Break-In: Like most new footwear, these boots may require a short break-in period. Wear them for a few light training sessions or casual use before a full match to allow them to conform to your feet. This helps prevent blisters and discomfort.
Compatibility
These boots feature a multi-ground (MG) outsole, making them suitable for:
- Firm Ground (FG): Dry, natural grass pitches.
- Artificial Ground (AG): Modern synthetic grass pitches. The stud configuration is designed to perform well on both, reducing stud pressure on artificial turf while still providing grip on natural surfaces.
They are not recommended for very soft, wet, or muddy natural grass pitches, as the stud length and pattern may not provide optimal penetration and grip in those conditions.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, especially on muddy pitches, wipe down the boots with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes that could damage the synthetic upper.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can cause the synthetic materials to crack or stiffen.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Using boot trees or stuffing them with newspaper can help maintain their shape and absorb residual moisture.
- Refer to Label: Always refer to the product label inside the boot for specific care instructions provided by adidas.
