Setup, Compatibility & Care
Preparation is key for optimal performance.
- Clean the Surface: Ensure the metal surface is clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, and grease.
- Address Rust and Old Paint: For bare metal, use a wire brush or 120-grit sandpaper to remove loose rust or paint. Wipe down with a damp cloth. For previously painted surfaces in good condition, a light sanding with 240-grit sandpaper is sufficient. If the old paint is flaking, remove it using sandpaper or a wire brush and wipe clean.
- Compatibility: This paint is suitable for use on metal (including cast iron and aluminium), and wood.
Application:
- Stir the paint thoroughly for 2-3 minutes before use.
- Apply using a good quality paintbrush or roller.
- For spraying, dilute the paint with approximately 10% water.
- Apply two coats for general use, and three coats for rusty metal or areas requiring maximum durability.
- Allow 2-4 hours between coats.
- The paint is touch dry in 30 minutes and showerproof in 30 minutes.
Care and Cleanup:
- Clean brushes and rollers immediately after use with warm, soapy water.
- Dispose of any unused paint responsibly according to local regulations.
